Pat McKinon joined fellow Edenvale baseball families for the annual Pat McKinon Baseball Tournament on November 16 and 17.
The tournament was held to honour the co-founder of the Imps and Giants baseball clubs.
The u-18 players also took part in provincial team trials simultaneously.

Dean McKinon, head coach of Imps and Giants and son to Pat, said this tournament has been going on for more than 20 years.
“We are so proud of my dad.
“He has been involved in baseball for 68 years and has given his life to the game.”

The son said the players and parents love him and this is proven by the turnout every year.
Edenvale Sports Ground was buzzing with matches playing from the early morning of November 16 and ended on the 17th.
The u-8s played competitive matches while a good number of family and friends cheered them on from the sidelines.

The spacious field allowed for as much as three different matches to go on at the same time throughout the days.
“It was good to have all our clubs supporting us,” said Dean.
The u-10 age group was won by team Cherokee.

The u-12 age group finals were between Benoni and the Imps.
Benoni won the final.
The Cardinals won the u-15 age group.
The final match results were as follows:
• u-10 Cherokee vs Boksburg 23-7
• u-12 Benoni vs Imps 16-0
• u-15 Cardinals vs Imps 19-2
