Modderfontein Parkrun celebrates 7th year

The 5km run is held every Saturday at 8am.

On January 11, Modderfontein Reserve Parkrun celebrated seven years since it first opened.

The run went on normally like any other Saturday morning with more than 900 participants attending.

The reserve hosted 369 parkruns in total since 2013.

Cheerful parkrunners happy to get up early in the morning and keep healthy.

According to parkrun results, female runner Georgia Hansen of Melbourne University was the leader of the crowd and clocked in at 00:19:28.

Hansen was a shy six seconds away from beating the Modderfontein female record holder Landi Maclean who clocked in at 00:19:22 on August 20, 2016.

The first position runner was followed by male Alex Waldauer at 00:20:05.

To give these winners a run for their money and to start off your year on a healthy note you can register for the run on the parkrun website.
