A Kempton Park Red Socks player collides into the Imps catcher during the u-15 league game played on January 26 at the Edenvale Sports Grounds.
Edenvale Sports Grounds was a hive of activity when 44 baseball teams visited the town to test their mettle on Edenvale’s diamonds.
Held on January 26, the league games saw players from u-8 to senior level take to the field and play ball.
Lana Bell of the club said it was a successful and busy day at the Imps and Giants home field.
“All games were played in the spirit of the game,” said Bell.
Results of the Edenvale teams are as follows:
• U-8 Imps vs Boksburg friendly – draw
• U-10 Imps lost 36-26 to Benoni Chinooks
• U-12 Imps won 12-6 against Alexandra
• U-15 Imps won 17-9 against Kempton Park Red Socks
• U-18 Renegades lost 9-7 to Palm Ridge
The next set of league games were played in Boksburg on February 2.
