2020 Edenvale Marathon a success

“We had some great feedback from the community posted on social media.”

Thousands of runners took to the streets when they competed in the Edenvale Marathon.

Hosted by Rand Road Warriors on March 8 the marathon saw runners of all ages take part in the day’s events.

Participants who ran the 42km and 21km routes of the Edenvale Marathon wait patiently for the race to start.

Race organiser Sharron Holton said the event, held in partnership with Staminogro, was phenomenal.

Although not all of those who registered attended the event, it was still one of the largest marathons in the club’s history.

On the day runners could run a 42km marathon, a 21km half marathon, a 10km or a 5km fun run.

Mpho Raphael Ndlovu finished the 42km route in third position with a time of 2.35.45.

“In recent years the Edenvale Marathon saw an increase in participants whereas running events saw a slight decrease in numbers,” said Holton.
