Lynda Joynt and Tracy Hicks combined for an impressive 44 points to claim first place in the Ekurhuleni Senior Ladies Golf (ESWG) betterball competition at Glendower Golf Club on September 15.

The pair topped the standings after a competitive round, finishing level on points with runners-up Sonja Louw and Punkah Mdaka, who settled for second place on a count-out.

Judy Coppin and Hazel Rushforth secured third place with 41 points, completing the podium in an enjoyable day of golf.

Barbara Collett and Leslie Nienaber also earned recognition after winning the nearest-the-pin prizes on the sixth and 17th holes, respectively.

The event also featured a raffle, with Julia Huntington and Tish Driver named as the winners.

ESWG President Charmaine Stone thanked Glendower Golf Club Golf Director Damon and Ladies Captain Colleen Francis for their hospitality and assistance in hosting the event.

The next round is on October 5 at State Mines Golf Club in Brakpan.
