School rewarded for touch rugby excellence

Reddam won four of the six divisions, U/15 and U/17 girls and the U/15 and U/17 boys. Also, the U/19 boys emerged as the runners-up in their final.

The year 2014 has been the most successful by far for the Reddam House touch rugby team.

The school dominated the recently held Eastern Gauteng Touch Rugby League tournament and was awarded the trophy for the Touch School of the Year by the Eastern Gauteng Touch Association.

Reddam won four of the six divisions, U/15 and U/17 girls and the U/15 and U/17 boys. Also, the U/19 boys emerged as the runners-up in their final.

Representing Eastern Gauteng at the annual Junior Interprovincial tournament in Durban, Reddam’s U/15 boys received bronze medals.

The U/17 and U/18 boys received a silver medal for playing in the U/19 division.

Paige Prince and Kayla Marshall, playing in the U/19 girls team, received bronze medals. Shannon Ryan, playing in the U/21 division, also received a silver medal.

Marco Fragale was voted the most valuable player for the tournament in the U/19 division.
