Saheti to host 22nd rugby sevens
Saheti School will host its 22nd annual rugby sevens and netball festival on Saturday, March 7, from 8am to 2pm.
This event has cemented its reputation as the major curtain raiser of the school’s winter sports calendar.
There will be 26 rugby teams and 36 netball teams in action, representing 20 schools in the U/16 and U/19 age groups.
Participating schools include Allen Glen, Dominican Convent, Highlands North, Jabulani Rugby Club, Malvern Community, Mondeor High, Queens High, Reddam House, Redhill, Wendywood High, Dainfern College, St. Catherine’s, Hoërskool Kempton Park, Crawford College Lonehill, Jeppe High School for Girls, Leeuwenhof Akademie, Curro Serengeti, Sandringham High, Edenvale High, Marian College and Saheti.
The open teams will be competing for four trophies, championship, shield, bowl and plate.
The U/16 teams will compete for the championship, shield and plate trophies.
Last year, Krugersdorp High took top honours, winning both the open rugby and netball finals.
A special highlight of the programme will be the alumni rugby and netball matches.
