Rugby players clash in tournament
From the outset, the teams set out to showcase their skills, competing against other Catholic schools.
St Benedict’s College hosted the Inter Catholic Sevens Tournament on Saturday, March 14.
The participating schools included De La Salle Holy Cross, Dominican Convent, Marist Brothers Linmeyer, St Benedict’s College and Veritas College.
From the outset, the teams set out to showcase their skills, competing against other Catholic schools.
The games were of a friendly, but competitive nature, which is testament to the hard work and training the players and coaches put into preparing for the tournament.
Each team played a minimum of six games during the day.
The U/16 final was hotly contested between the St Benedict’s A and B side. The Open Final was between St Benedict’s and De La Salle Holy Cross. St Benedict’s won both of matches.
“This event was made possible by the Catholic Schools Office, and we would like to thank Mrs Parr and her team for all their arrangements and involvement on the day. We hope to continue this type of event annually,” said Ms Chantelle Burgin of St Benedict’s College.
