Jeppe, Northwood in action-packed clash

Close to 250 boys were hosted by Jeppe families on Friday night, with the Northwood boys returning to Durban on Saturday afternoon.

The first rugby game ended in a 29-22 win to Jeppe, with the home side turning around a 17-10 deficit at half-time to win quite comfortably in the end.

They scored 19 unanswered points in the second half. Northwood did manage a consolation try in injury time.

Jeppe scored four tries in the end through Hacjivah Dayimani, Wandisele Simelane, Cameron Burg and Tyrone Green.

Simelani converted three of the tries and kicked a penalty.

In all, Jeppe won 11 of the 14 rugby games played.

The hockey fixture was more even, with Northwood winning five of the 13 games and Jeppe four. Three matches were drawn.

Northwood won the first team encounter 4-2.
