Jeppe High School for Boys athletes shine at the Athletic South Africa championships
KENSINGTON – The star of the day was Ntuthuko Ndimande who won the U18 boys' 800m in a time of 1:49:69.
Three athletes of Jeppe High School for Boys competed at the 2017 Athletic South Africa U18 and U20 Track and Field Championships in Cape Town during the Easter holiday.
Lesedi Moloto placed 8th in the U15 boys’ long jump and Mzwakhe Mashaba placed 4th in the U15 boys’ 1 500m and 3rd in the U15 boys’ 3 000m.
The star of the day was Ntuthuko Ndimande who won the U18 boys’ 800m in a time of 1:49:69. At only 15 years old, it makes Ndimande’s achievement special and his time was only two seconds off the current South African record, and was faster than the U20 800m time on the day.

Ndimande will compete in the CAA African Youth Championships in Equatorial Guinea from 29 June to 2 July. He has also qualified for the IAAF World Youth Championships in Nairobi, Kenya from 12 to 16 July.
Jeppe High School for Boys administrator, Athly Jarvis said, “Jeppe High School for Boys is extremely proud of this young man and we encourage him to continue training hard in order to keep attaining these phenomenal results.”
