Swimmers take part in Seagulls Winter Short Course Championships

The learners who participated were Alice Chevorzetsev, Alisha Calitz, Hannah Robertson, Eryn Mickeljohn, Mia Wildman, Shannen Kench, Captain Kerryn Herbst and Tyla Campbell.

St Andrews’s School for Girls learners took part in the Seagulls Winter Short Course Championships in Durban from September 26 to 29.

The learners who participated were Alice Chevorzetsev, Alisha Calitz, Hannah Robertson, Eryn Mickeljohn, Mia Wildman, Shannen Kench, Captain Kerryn Herbst and Tyla Campbell.

Kerryn placed sixth in the 50m breaststroke, fourth in the 50m freestyle, third in the 50m backstroke and second in the 100m butterfly, 100m freestyle and 200m individual medley.

She also achieved a first place in the 100m backstroke with a new record.

Tyla participated in 12 events and achieved four personal best times in the 800m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m individual medley.

Hannah Robertson placed third in 200m individual medley and second in the 50m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and mystery relay.

She also placed first in the 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 400m freestyle and open age group 800m freestyle.
