Bennies rows to 27th victory

St Benedict's College rowing team broke the record in the u-15 octuple record, winning the first eight event for the 12th time.

St Benedict’s College won its 27th consecutive rowing title at the 2020 South African Schools Rowing Championships.

The championships were held at Roodeplaat Dam from March 6 to 8.

Bennies won trophies in all four age groups, racking up the most points with the largest winning margin since 1988.

The team won in the big five age groups, u-14 and u-15 octuple, u-16A, second and first eight.

The school broke the record in the u-15 octuple record, winning the first eight event for the 12th time.

This secured the schools 27th consecutive national title, which is the most notable achievement of the championships.
