In 2006 Vuminkosi Sibiya, known as Vuma, and Sphamandla Mthethwa, known as Mageja, joined forces to form a crew known as Targets.
The crew is made up of a singer, a songwriter and a dancer.
Kwaito music was the driving force behind the formation of the Targets crew.
Vuma said he started dancing at a very young age.

“I loved music. I would often dance in class and got punishment as a result. I then teamed up with other boys during lunch breaks and danced while other children were enjoying their lunch. We entertained them with music and dance,” he said.
The Targets crew is originally from Dannhauser in KwaZulu-Natal.
It was the Annual Newcastle Amcor Dam Festival that staged this rapidly growing talented crew.
The festival led to Targets becoming more popular outside their immediate community.
“We landed an opportunity to perform in the North West Annual University Festival, which boosted the morale of Targets, ahead of performing at Dundee July annual events,” said Vuma.
Targets auditioned for the Sicija Makhono competition in KwaZulu-Natal last year.
“We won second prize in the competition and decided to work on our first album. We fused various musical genres to form what is now known as new-age kwaito, as our music mixes house, kwaito and Afro-pop. We constantly seek to innovate our sound to suit and appeal to South Africa,” he said.
