Ekurhuleni wishes Class of 2025 success in matric finals

City of Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Alderman Nkosindiphile Xhakaza has extended his heartfelt wishes to the more than 39 000 matric learners in the city as they prepare to begin their National Senior Certificate examinations.

As Grade 12 learners across South Africa prepare to write their National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, the City of Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor, Nkosindiphile Xhakaza, has extended his best wishes to the Class of 2025.

The exams officially begin on October 21, with more than 700 000 learners expected to sit for their final assessments nationwide – a key milestone marking the end of their school journey and the beginning of a new chapter.

Within Ekurhuleni, over 39 000 learners are set to write their matric exams this year.

Xhakaza described this moment as one of pride, excitement, and anticipation for the young people of the city, acknowledging the hard work and perseverance that brought them to this point.

“We are thrilled to witness this monumental step in their lives as they transition into young adulthood,” he said.

“It is heartwarming and inspiring to see the determination of our learners as they prepare to take their place in our broader socio-economic society.”

He encouraged learners to approach their studies with focus, discipline, and confidence, reminding them that their persistence has already proven their strength and resilience.

“May all our learners experience this milestone with vigour and unwavering commitment to succeed. You have shown that you have what it takes to take this critical leap,” said Xhakaza.

The mayor emphasised that the success of matriculants goes beyond individual achievement – it reflects the collective hope and progress of their families, communities, and the City of Ekurhuleni.

“Your success is a triumph for all of us. We look forward to seeing more of our young people entering higher education, pursuing their passions, and returning to contribute meaningfully to our city’s growth and development,” he added.

As the matric examinations commence, the City of Ekurhuleni joins schools, educators, and parents in wishing the Class of 2025 the very best of luck in their final exams.
