New-born baby found dead in veld
Paramedics found the body of the baby boy partially wrapped in a bloodstained shirt and plastic bag.
A new-born boy was found dead in a veld at the corners of Shari and Shaba Crescent in Lenasia, Johannesburg, according to Alberton Record.
Paramedics from the ER24 Johannesburg South branch were alerted to the scene after member of public had noticed the body amongst some refuse on Saturday.
Upon arrival, paramedics found the body partially wrapped in a bloodstained shirt and plastic bag.
The shirt and bag were quickly removed as paramedics assessed the patient. Unfortunately, the child had already succumbed to his injuries.
The details surrounding the incident are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
Nothing more could be done for him and he was declared dead on scene.
