Wattle Road upgraded

The road upgrades took over two months to complete, but motorists can now look forward to a fully-upgraded and tarred road surface.

According to Moseme Road Construction contract manager, Thulani Moloi, two speed humps and road markings will be added to the road this week, with the road expected to be open to traffic through this process.

The infamous road has caused headaches for motorists for years due to its shocking state of pothholes.

Clr Refiloe Ntsekhe is excited at the roads completion.

The road made headlines on October 13 last year, when Luwellen van der Heever (25) and Marius Byliefeldt (25) died after crashing into a tree, which protroded into Wattle Road.

Their car apparently hit a pothole and veered into the tree.
