Wakaberry Oakfields opens its doors to Benoni residents

A large number of Benoni residents waited in eager anticipation for the doors of Wakaberry, a frozen yoghurt franchise, to open at the Oakfields Centre on the evening of September 13.

The self-serve frozen yoghurt bar is owned by husband and wife, Shaun and Lauren Laurens.

According to the couple the one thing that makes them different from the rest is that while most companies use powder to make their product they use 100 per cent dairy.

The store offers a variety of toppings ranging from dessert-types for customers who have a sweet tooth to fresh fruit for the health nuts.

“Our flavours will change on a weekly basis, so that we offer our customers something different.

The company was initially established in 2011 in Durban and was named after the 2010 Fifa World Cup song Wakawaka.
