Car crashes into house
A woman in her 70s lost control of her vehicle, crashed through the gate of a property, drove into a garage and damaged two cars in the process, on Friday, last week.
The incident took place shortly before 4pm, at a house in Hartley Street, Rynfield.
‘‘She drove through the main gate of the house, hit a car in the driveway, and then came to rest against the side of the garage,’’ said ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt.
‘‘The car with which she collided went through the garage door and the door damaged another vehicle inside the garage.’’
Orritt said the driver attempted to brake, but the car continued to accelerate.
The woman, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, did not suffer any physical injuries and said she would consult a doctor at a later stage if necessary.
Local authorities were on scene to investigate the accident.
