Nine distinctions for Schulenkowski

Ashton International College pupil Michal Schulenkowski will this year study medicine at the University of Pretoria.

This is after he attained nine distinctions in the 2013 Cambridge International Examinations.

The star-pupil aced accounting (AS level), chemistry (AS level), chemistry (A level), computing (AS level), computing (A level), mathematics (AS level, 99 per cent), physics (AS level), physics (A level) and geography (IGCSE).

Schulenkowski managed the distinctions at an average of 86 per cent and feels he achieved his goals.

“I found the exams very similar to the school exams our teachers had previously set for us, so I was comfortable when writing them,” he said.

“Due to this I did have a rough idea of what my results might be like.”

The 18-year-old said he made an effort to summarise all his work from the textbooks for various subjects, and normally studied about a week in advance for an exam.

He also played cricket for his school.
