CPF highly visible in Western Extension

Members of the Benoni Community Policing Forum (CPF) conducted a patrol against drugs in Western Extension, on Saturday night.

Close to 50 people and 20 vehicles infiltrated Western Extension for several hours, until 11.30pm.

The drive was arranged after Western Extension CPF members requested assistance from other sectors, to fight drugs and prostitution.

Acting Sector One CPF member Brandon Scott said the purpose of the passive drive was to deter people from engaging in drug dealings and prostitution for the night.

Scott said it was the second time such a patrol has been conducted in Western Extension.

There are plans to conduct operations in the area twice a month.

Scott hopes police will, in future, assist the CPF with such patrols, to intervene when the law is broken.
