“It seems that the public is very negligent when it comes to the safe-keeping of their motor cycles,” said Crystal Park SAPS media liaison officer Tryna Maritz.
”They just park their motorcycles outside their gates, under a tree, or under a carport, where it is visible from the road.”
Maritz said people must ensure motorcycles are parked completely out of sight, such as in a garage or behind their homes.
She added that people always have the option of fitting the bike with a tracking device.
”The public are encouraged to adhere to these safety tips and to assist the SAPS in the fight against crime,” she concluded.
