With the ‘escaped’ python a hot topic in Benoni this week it is quite ironic that another snake story made front page news on this week in 1971. A number of snakes had been killed in Benoni by worried residents. One such resident in Turvey Street thought he had killed a Royal Cobra. Some clarity as to what species of snakes can be found in Benoni was given in the article.
