Accident injures seven on O’Reilly Merry Street

Seven people were injured when a car was struck by two tow trucks on O'Reilly Merry Street on Thursday morning (April 24).

One person was critically injured and the other six moderately injured near the Brodigan Street intersection.

”ER24 paramedics were attending to a minor bumper bashing some metres away when they heard a loud bang,” said ER24 media officer Russel Meiring.

”Paramedics on scene witnessed two tow trucks collide with a light motor vehicle at the busy intersection.”

The woman in the car, who is in her 50s, sustained critical injuries in the collision.

The jaws of life were used to access the patient.

The exact cause of the collision is not yet known.

Local authorities were on scene to investigate the accident.
