Leigh Begemann dies at 54

A Grade Three teacher for 19 years at St Dunstan's College, Leigh Begemann, has died aged 54

She died on April 15 at the Linmed Hospital, from diabetes complications.

St Dunstan’s said Begemann was a perfectionist in all she did, loyal and always put others first, willing to serve where needed and go the extra mile.

She was involved in all aspects of school life, particularly swimming.

Begemann also assisted in grannies teas, eisteddfods, netball and many other cultural events.

Her interests included crafts, especially scrap-booking and candle-making.

She loved travelling with her family and loved nature, the sea, bush and mountains.

She was involved in Rotary and was the recipient of the Rotary Ann Award of the Year.

According to the St Dunstan’s College “Leigh will always be remembered for her loving, caring nature and her ready laugh”.

Begemann is survived by her husband Wade and two children Robyn and Ross.

Her funeral was held at the Northfield Methodist Church on April 24.
