Vote for the top art works
People have about three weeks left to vote for the best artist in the Paint for Patients competition.
The competition, which is being driven by Lakeside Mall and Santa Rio Spur, involves 120 paintings, and members of the public are asked to vote for their choice.
The paintings are the work of Grade Eight and Nine pupils from Hoerskool Die Anker, in Brakpan.
They will be displayed at Lakeside Mall’s entrance five, until the end of the competition, on June 16.
The top 50 artworks will be framed and placed in the paediatric and Kids ICU wards at the Life Glynnwood Hospital.
Santa Rio Spur owner Danelle Steyn said she approached the school and hospital after her daughter, Isis Steyn (6), was admitted to the Glynnwood.
While Isis was in hospital she noticed how dull the walls were and this observation sparked the idea for the competition.
People must visit the mall’s customer care kiosk to cast their votes for the paintings.
