Couple robbed of R10 000

Police warn against keeping large sums of money at home

People must not keep large amounts of money in their homes.

Daveyton SAPS media liaison officer Capt Alfred Nakana issued this warning after a couple were robbed of R10 000, at their Daveyton, home on June 3.

Nakana said two men entered the home of two senior citizens living on Didi Street, and held them up.

They pointed a gun at the couple and tied up the husband.

The woman was told to open the safe, which led the perpetrators to the R10 000.

Nakana said police believe this came about through inside information.

A case of house robbery was opened and anyone with information on this crime should contact Nakana on 079 695 1401.
