March against crime to be held

2 500 people expected in march against crime

Approximately 2 500 people are expected to attend a Drug Awareness Campaign, in Daveyton, on June 21.

The day is a joint initiative between Ekurhuleni and the SAPS.

The event will start with a march at 10am, from Esihlahlane, along Eisleen Street, to the Sinaba Stadium.

At the stadium, the MMC and chairperson of Community Safety, Mthuthuzeli Siboza, will deliver a speech.

Thereafter, there will be prayers, pledges, candle lighting for drug victims and entertainment.

Daveyton SAPS media liaison officer Capt Alfred Nakana said anyone is welcome to attend the event, especially the youth.
