Festive cheer in aid of iThemba

The public showed their support of the iThemba Rape and Trauma Support Centre at Flamingo’s Nest Guesthouse and Conference Centre’s Christmas in July event, held in aid of this organisation on July 12.

Manager of the guesthouse, Melissa Barnard, said she met iThemba’s vice-chairman, Carl Schultz, at a business function earlier this year and thought the organisation was a worthy cause.

The cosy social event offered its guests unlimited gluhwein around crackling fires, a warm meal, and live music performed by Bryan Chubb.

Guests were also encouraged to bring along items to donate to iThemba, such as non-perishable goods and blankets for winter.

Chief social worker of iThemba, Jath van der Westhuizen, attended the event.
