Malherbe Rigg and Ranwell celebrate 120 years of service
Malherbe Rigg and Ranwell (MRR) recently celebrated its 120th anniversary, a milestone of service for the Ekurhuleni region.
The firm is currently headed by five directors, Brian Macgregor, Antoinette Swanepoel, Darian Nolan, Dino Montepara and Jeff Matthee, who all specialise in a broad spectrum of legal fields.
Benoni’s Jeff Matthee has been with the company since 1977.
He said that when he joined MRR there were only five staff members, and now there are 50.
“The secret to the firm’s success is consistency in providing a good and professional service,” said Matthee.
The firm has made great of strides over the years, and the staff’s ability to adapt to change has worked in their favour.
“Having seen the peaks and pitfalls of many East Rand law firms, you always try to learn from the mistakes of others,” Matthee added.
When he thinks about his journey with MRR and his personal life, a quote from Charles Darwin comes to mind: “It’s not the strongest of the species that survive, nor the most intelligent, but the one most responsive to change.”
