A man, who suffered severe injuries was airlifted to hospital following a single motor accident, on the morning of July 29.

ER24 were called out to a serious motor vehicle accident on Celia Nestadt Road, shortly after 10am.

ER24 JHB East spokesperson Glen Orritt said paramedics arrived on scene and found that a driver had lost control of his panel van on the bend in the road.

“The vehicle ended up rolling several times in the nearby veld,” said Orrit.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, a man in his 30s, was found lying a short distance from the vehicle.

“Paramedics immediately assessed the man and found that he had suffered severe injuries to his leg, along with suspected internal injuries,” he said.

Paramedics worked to stabilise the man and, while doing so, called for a medical helicopter.

The man was airlifted to a Johannesburg hospital for further care.

Orritt thanked the Life the Glynnwood paramedics, Benoni CPF, Benoni SAPS and the EMPD for their assistance.
