Amended load shedding schedule

The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality has amended its load shedding schedules effective from December 12.

The metro said this is done in an effort to reduce inconvenience experienced by residents as a result of ongoing load shedding around the country.

From today, December 12, the Metro will follow the newly published timetables available on their website.

Metro spokesperson Themba Gadebe said the newly designed schedules respond to complaints received from residents over the past weeks, stating that the previous schedules were not favourable to all areas and that some residential areas did not appear on the schedule.

“When Eskom declares stage one or two load shedding, which is controlled by municipalities, the latest schedule that is now available on the website will be the one that the municipality uses in implementing load shedding in Ekurhuleni” said Gadebe.

The schedule can also be accessed from the municipality’s website on www.ekurhuleni.gov.za/load-sheddings

The municipality apologises for any inconvenience caused and encourages residents to use electricity sparingly.
