The 18 -year-old Atlasville resident, from Benoni High School, received distinctions for English home language, Afrikaans first additional language, life orientation, mathematics, life science, information technology, advanced programme mathematics and accounting.
On Tuesday, January 6, she woke up at midnight and frantically searched for a newspaper to see her results but, unfortunately, she could not find one.
She then decided to wait for the results to be released online.
Her secret to achieving such results is working hard and committing herself to her studies.
“I think keeping my strength throughout the year, taking breaks during the year, focusing on what is important and giving it my all in the finals was important for me,” said Rajcoomar-Singh.
She adds that it was challenging for her to try and keep the studying consistent.
This year she plans to study actuarial science at the University of Witwatersrand.
“I know a lot of people who have become actuaries and they have encouraged me to follow the same path,” she said.
Her advice to the class of 2015 is to focus throughout the year.
“Study in a place that is free of distractions and take a break every hour to rest your mind.
“Make sure you focus on your finals as they are important,” she said.
With her first day at university around the corner, the sky is definitely the limit for Rajcoomar-Singh.
