Stolen bakkie tracked to Daveyton

EMPD officers arrested a 36-year-old man for being in possession of a stolen Isuzu bakkie, on Monday, May 25.

According Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, the vehicle was reported stolen in Witbank on Saturday night (May 23).

With the help of a tracking system fitted in the bakkie, officers were able to track the car to Mayfield informal settlement, near Daveyton.

The suspect was also found in possession of equipment allegedly used to break into vehicles.

He was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle at the Putfontein Police Station and is expected to appear in the Daveyton Magistrates Court, soon.
