Let’s clean Benoni, again

Following the success of the last Benoni clean-up, another operation is planned for June 6.

Over 200 people pitched up to help to clean the Chris Rencken Park, on May 23.

The initiative was supported by community members, NGOs, the SAPS, CPF and Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality.

The objective is to clean areas of litter and to cut down vegetation in the hope of reducing crime.

Volunteers have been asked to bring along rakes, forks, spades, trimming scissors, dustbin bags, gloves and dust masks to help with the June 6 operation.

Participants should meet on Country Lake Lane, at 8am, for the clean-up around the Chris Rencken Park.

Work will continue until 4pm and refreshments will be on sale.
