Bogus interviewers not from the Benoni City Times

The four people, who were driving in a dilapidated car, approached residents and claimed that they were doing a survey for the Benoni City Times.

One complainant said one of the group, a woman, appeared to be drunk.

The editor of the Benoni City Times, Hilary Green, stressed that these people did not represent the City Times and were not authorised to question residents on the newspaper’s behalf.
