The Benoni cluster task team swooped in on the two suspects at a home in Zenzele, Putfontein, at around 2am.
Benoni SAPS acting cluster commander, Brig Poobalan Subbiah, said the men were found in possession of a firearm with the serial numbers filed off; five knives; two cell phones and 500 fake DVDs.
The suspects are being detained at the Benoni Police Station.
They are facing charges of house robbery and the possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.
