Western Extension charity shop supports animal centre

A charity shop for the Irwin Animal Rescue Centre opened in Western Extension in May and needs support from the public.

The centre relied solely on donations and opened the charity shop, at 29 Railway Avenue, as another way to bring in funds for the 196 dogs in their care.

Aimee Zermatten, assistant manager at the rescue centre, said the shop did well in the beginning, but is now struggling.

“It breaks our hearts to see such loving dogs, who are so deserving of a home, sitting and waiting behind a fence,” said Zermatten.

The centre is based in Walkerville, De Deur.
