G4S employee robbed of cash and firearm

A G4S Security employee was robbed of a safety cash box containing an undisclosed amount of money and his firearm, in Actonville, on December 7.

According to WO Ramothakhi Maqabe, Actonville SAPS spokesperson, the security employee was leaving Shoprite when two men, armed with firearms, approached him.

“The safety box was found abandoned, with the money still inside, not too far from the store,” said Maqabe.

The suspects left the scene in a white Toyota bakkie.

No injuries were reported.

A case of armed robbery will be opened at the Actonville Police Station.
