Join the Cansa Shavathon

Do you feel like taking part in the annual Cansa Shavathon and showing your support for cancer victims?

Show your support by spraying your hair with a funky colour or, if you are brave enough, shave it all off for this worthy cause.

This initiative is held to show solidarity with those affected by cancer.

Losing ones hair is a common side effect of chemotherapy, so shaving your head has become a symbolic gesture of support for cancer survivors.

Local Shavathon points around town include:

Friday, February 26:

  •  Benoni Action Sports Shavathon, 12 Elston Avenue, 6.30pm until 10pm (Christine Straussner 011 421 7444)

Saturday, February 27:

  •  Lakeside Mall, Town Square, entrance five, 10am until 3pm (Viwe Key 011 427 1801)

Friday, March 4:

  • Kathstan College, 21 Patten Road, Benoni Small Farms, from 9am (Cathy Boyes 011 967 2221)

Saturday, March 5:

  •  Victus Christi Shavathon Market, Gereformeerde Kerk, 24B Miles Sharp Street, Rynfield, with more than 50 exhibitors of art, crafts and food, 8am until 2pm (Schalk van Eeden 082 516 9409)

Have you lost a loved one or friend through cancer, we would like to hear your story and why the Cansa Shavaton is important to you.
