Lions raise thousands
Over 2 500kg of e-waste was collected through the Benoni Lakes Lions Club’s Recycle for Sight project.
People were encouraged to drop off their e-waste at the Desco recycling point at Lakeside Mall, during April.
The club’s Beaulieu Maré said they will receive R2 577 for the waste.
All funds will be channeled to various sight projects supported by the club.
“This project improved the environment and our community at the same time,” said Maré.
“It exemplifies our ongoing commitment to provide a healthier and safer place to live, work and play.
“Lions thank everyone who contributed to and supported this important effort.
“You are truly helping Lions make a difference.”
