Man critical after Atlas Road accident
A man is in a critical condition after he was struck by a truck’s mirror on Atlas Road this afternoon (June 29).
The accident happened at around 12.30pm.
“Reports from the scene indicate that the man was crossing the road at the time of the incident,” said Netcare 911 media liaison officer Athlenda Mathe.
“When Netcare 911 paramedics arrived on scene, we found the man lying next to the truck in a critical condition.”
The patient was intubated to help him to breathe.
The Netcare Two helicopter was dispatched to the scene to airlift the man to a level one trauma facility in Johannesburg for further medical care.
