Charities receive funds
The Four Degrees Golf Club raised R53 000 which was donated to various non-government organisations (NGOs) and churches in Benoni.
The charity golf fund-raiser was held on May 1 at the Benoni Country Club.
Club captain Ashley Mabogoane said the team is made up of men and women who enjoy the sport but also use the game each year to raise funds for needy organisations within Ekurhuleni.
“In the past five years the team has raised and distributed R400 000 to various organisations and churches, as part of our social upliftment initiative,” said Mabogoane.
The money raised was donated to LifeLine Ekurhuleni, John Wesley Community Centre, African Methodist Episcopal Church and Golf Development.
Mabogoane thanked all the sponsors for their generous contributions.
