Gangs of Ballet stop over in Benoni
Alternative rock band Gangs of Ballet was in Benoni, on Friday.
Jacaranda FM took the Martin Bester Drive (MBD) show on the road, broadcasting live from a party bus, with 14 VIP listeners, on September 23.
The first stop on the tour was at Dingo’s in Lakefield, where the public enjoyed a live performance by Gangs of Ballet.
The East Rand was the first destination in the MBD tour across Gauteng.
There will be two more tours, with Jack Parow and GoodLuck, in Tshwane and Johannesburg.
“This is fantastic, this is how you spend your Friday afternoon in traffic,” said Roberto Small, a listeners who was on the bus.
The tour bus received a warm welcome from Dingo’s patrons.
“The aim is to share music, to have fun, to interact and surprise listeners,” said Martin Bester, host of the MBD.
“This is one of the coolest broadcasts I have done; we get to connect with listeners in a different way.”
Josh Klynsmith, one of the band members, shared his view of the party bus.
“It’s been great, how often do you get to perform live on a bus?” he asked.
