They also toured the Guiseppe and Bruna Soncini Library, in Wattville, as part of their visit.
The delegates from the small town housed Oliver Tambo during his time in Italy, during his years in exile.
According to Masina, because of the strong ties that have been created between Ekurhuleni and Reggio Emilia, there will be collaborations between the two municipalities, which will involve arts and culture, sports and education.
The Italian delegates also donated books to the library, in a bid to encourage more pupils to read about Italy.
According to the metro, there are future plans for the expansion of the library, to accommodate more members of the community.
