Black Friday was a busy Friday

Checkers at Northmead Square was already buzzing at 9.30am on Black Friday (November 25).

Shoppers were waiting for trolleys because the trolley rack was empty and several others decided to hold their items in their hands instead of waiting.

One shopper, Pride Mlambo and her son, Nqobile (10) live in Springs but travelled all the way to Benoni because they hoped the queues would be shorter.

“Although the lines were long, it was worth waiting in the queues because the specials are massive,” said Pride.
