Meet St Dunstan’s top matric achievers
St Dunstan's College achieved a 100 per cent pass rate in the 2016 Independent Examination Board (IEB) exams.

The college received a 92 per cent bachelor’s degree pass and 116 distinctions from its 87 students.
Michael McConnachie, the college’s principal and rector, said the results achieved are due to the spirit of collaboration between learners, educators and parents.
“What was most pleasing was the turnaround of those students who struggled in Grade 11, but performed well in their Grade 12 year,” said McConnachie.
“We are grateful to the educators in our pre-school and preparatory school, as well as those educators in our other feeder schools who developed a love of learning in the students of our 2016 matric class.”

Nine distinctions (Level Seven):
Darin Croker aced English, Afrikaans, mathematics, physical science, life science, accounting, life orientation, information technology and advanced programme mathematics. He’s in the top 1 per cent nationally in life sciences, mathematics, advanced programme mathematics, accounting and physical science. Croker is also included in the outstanding list of candidates (top 5 per cent of candidates in six subjects). He will study medicine.
Eight distinctions:
Motshabi Shuping obtained distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, history, accounting, life orientation, business studies and advanced programme English. He will study electrical engineering.
Matthew van Welie aced English, Afrikaans, mathematics, physical science, life science, accounting, life orientation and advanced programme mathematics. He will study medicine.
Amy Pawson scooped distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, physical science, history, business studies, life orientation and advanced programme English. Pawson is in the top 1 per cent nationally in business studies and history, as well as on the commendable list (top 5 per cent in five subjects). She will study law.
Six distinctions:
Ashleigh Riley obtained distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, physical science, geography (top 1 per cent nationally) and life orientation. Riley will study medicine.
Tejna Bharath achieved distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life science, geography and life orientation. She will study medicine.
Bindu Makhesha obtained distinctions in English, history, mathematics, business studies, accounting and life orientation. Makhesha will study business science in economics.
Five distinctions:
Ivan Humphreys aced English, mathematics, physical science, accounting and geography. He will study mechatronic engineering.
Keren Charge attained distinctions in Afrikaans, mathematics, consumer studies, geography and life orientation. She will study towards a degree in psychology.
