What was just another start to the new year for most, was seen as the terrifying end of a chapter for others, when Grade Ones lined up for their first school day.

Wawiza Zondi (7) started off Grade Two in a new school, Prestige College Crystal Park. Sadness overtook him as he missed his mom and his old school and he had to be comforted by his teacher, Anja Steyn.
Mignon Cox (6) was reg vir haar eerste dag by die Laerskool Northmead. Sy het gesê sy is nie bang nie en is opgewonde want “ek doen my werk”.
Llewelyn van der Merwe is ses jaar oud en was reg vir sy eerste dag by die Laerskool Northmead.
