Two die, five injured in R21 accident
Two people were killed and five others injured when a light duty vehicle overturned on the R21 north at the R23 off-ramp.
The incident happened this evening (April 20) at around 7.30pm.
“When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on the scene, they found that all the occupants were ejected from the overturned vehicle,” said ER24’s Werner Vermaak.
“Two people were found with fatal injuries.
“Two were found with critical injuries and three others with moderate injuries.”
Vermaak said most of the occupants sustained several fractures and possible head injuries.
They were stabilised on scene and later transported to nearby hospitals.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known.
