Benoni Country Club lease item is on track

Despite there not being a council sitting in September due to recess, the item that will ensure the Benoni Country Club’s (BCC) long-term lease is, according to Ward 27 Clr Jacques Meiring, going through internal administrative processes.

Meiring said that the item was tabled at the Infrastructure Services’ committee in September.

“The item will now follow due course to the mayoral committee and should table in October at the council meeting for noting.

“The item that was presented at the BCC’s AGM in August was, to my knowledge, accepted by all parties.

“The rest of the process will be dealt with administratively and internally by the Real Estate Department.

“Everything is on track and going according to schedule.

“The item only goes to council for noting. The committee debates the item and makes recommendations.

“No additional recommendations have been made.”
