According to SAPS Actonville spokesperson, Pheello Mothapo, the incident took place on September 20 but was only reported to police yesterday (October 23).
Mathapo said the toddler was playing at the house of the accused who is the neighbour of the youngster’s grandparents.
“A case of attempted murder was opened against the woman,” Mothapo said.
“She was arrested as soon as the case was opened.”
